Directory 512 is a place where I post various projects I've completed. This
site is not a blog, nor should it be treated as such.
Nobody really cares what I had for lunch or what song I'm currently listening to, and if they do—well
then maybe they need to find a hobby. Similarly, I make no guarantees to update
this site on a regular basis or even yearly, but only when I get around to it.
Now that that's out of the way, I should explain more about what this site is. I have many
hobbies that deal with computer programming, game design, graphics design, and related areas.
Although I'm not the best at what I do, I enjoy making the finished results public so that friends and
strangers can see what I hope is more interesting than yesterday's lunch. And maybe even
find some things useful.
You'll also notice that I maintain a large collection of photos on the site. Although not
as useful, they do well at preserving fond memories and also at bringing my friends to this site
(who mostly have no interest in computer science or programming). Last names are typically
omitted for privacy purposes.
About Me
First, I'm a Christian. I have great difficulty explaining away the dramatic historical events in Jerusalem
and throughout the Roman Empire that happened in the first century and I can't for the life of me figure out
how Jesus could've been anyone other than the ultimate—God, whom he claimed to be.
Therefore, I live my life as closely to the teachings of Christ as I can, and tragically, I fall short. I
suppose that's where grace should come in; and it does. Maybe I'm a perfectionist, but I hate sin
and if I had one wish, I would have myself made incapable of it.
I live in Southern Indiana a little ways north of Louisville, KY. Sorry, stalkers, I'm not being any more
specific than that! In reality, I'm probably not important enough to be stalked. But anyway, I
go to First Christian Church, for those of you who know me and do know where I'm from. As for the
rest of my time, I'm a computer science student at IUS by day and a web
programmer by night; working for Five-Star Technology Solutions.
Oh, and I'm engaged and soon to be married to a beautiful young girl named Brittany.
Web 2.0 is such a vague buzzword that I think we can skip
over it right away. As for the details of this site, it was written using a combination of HTML (obviously), CSS,
Javascript, PHP, and MySQL. I used Photoshop CS2
for the graphics (yes, I did buy it),
Eclipse with the PHPEclipse plugin
for code-writing, and FileZilla for FTP.
And best of all, this entire site is W3c
HTML and CSS Compliant.
